  • Last Date of online submission of application form for Assam Sanskritik Mahasangram 2023-24 is further extended to 9th November 2023 and the GP/VCDC/ULB/MAC level competition will start from 10th November to 30th November 2023

Cultural activities provide every person a platform to explore their interests and develop aesthetically, artistically, historically, intellectually, or socially. Different types of activities carried out amongst the students help them refresh their minds and boost intellectual function, leading to better concentration. Additionally, cultural activities promote creativity and enhance learning skills. Each person has their own skills and interests. When they are given opportunities to explore what they are passionate about, it improves their confidence and self-esteem. With an aim to identify & encourage cultural talents at grass root level Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam has announced a scheme “Assam Sanskritik Mahasangram” in the budget speech of 2023-24

Under the scheme competitions will be organized in 6 (Six) categories 1) Jyoti Sangeet 2) Bishnu Rabha Geet 3) Bhupendra Sangeet 4) Rabindra Sangeet 5) Bihu Dance and 6) Ethnic Dance in three age groups. Age criteria are i) 12 to 18 years., ii) 19 to 24 years and iii) 25 to 35 years. The registration for competition in Gaon Panchayat /WARD/VCDC/MAC will start from 10th October, 2023. The winners of every category in all GP /WARD/VCDC/MAC will participate in the LAC level and then the winners of LAC level will compete amongst themselves in District Level.

Three winners of every age group of each category will take part in the State Level competition to be held from 28th January 2024 to 6th February 2024. The Grand Finale will be held on 7th February 2024 at Sarusajai Stadium, Guwahati. The Sangeet competitions will be held in solo and Bihu & Ethnic Dance competitions will be performed in group. For the Sangeet Categories 20 (Twenty) model songs for each category will be selected and widely circulated by the Cultural Affairs Department through District Commissioner, however no other songs can be barred from performance

Award Money (State Level)

  • 1st winner 1,00,000/
  • 2nd winner 75,000/
  • 3rd winner 50,000/

It is expected that more than 13.60 Lakhs participants will compete in the 6 (Six) Cultural Categories in the State.
